PRAYER & COUNSELING
When in trouble of situation of need, it is wise to remember the words of God spoken by Isaiah. “Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save nor His ear too deaf to hear; but your sins have separated you from your God – your sins have hidden his face from you, so that He will not hear.” (Is. 50:1-2 NIV) To remedy this James tell us, “…confess your sins to each other and pray for each other -so that you may be healed!” (Jam. 5:16 NIV)
Jivannadi is first and foremost a counselling ministry with specific dedication to the Indian People of South Africa and abroad.
People from a background of Hinduism, alcoholism and drug abuse, and with various other problems, book in to seek God for their deliverance from the spiritual, psychological and physical bondage that they find themselves in as a result of their lifestyle. Through the Word of God preached daily and the Bible-based counselling given, God is able to reach them at their point of need. Many have found the complete deliverance and new hope that a right relationship with God brings.
We can comfortably accommodate about 80 people and that’s about the daily average we have taken care of through the years. We have never asked anyone to pay anything and even though we have at least one service per day, have never taken up an offering!
People with various needs come to stay at the mission while they await an opportunity to see a counselor. During the evening and sometimes during the day, there would be a service and the Word is preached. The focus would be on discovering the root of the problem. As they listen, people are convicted of sin and they can then put it right with God. When people find forgiveness they experience their burdens being lifted away!
